Programa Legado
Legacy Professional Association (LPA) roots from Programa Legado. Legado is an innovative program that gathers health professionals, educators, and entrepreneurs to mentor and motivate younger students who seek to follow their parents' or families' career footsteps and leave the family legacy. Its goal is to help students become professionals who are actively aware and responsive to their community's necessities - upholding their moral and ethic values.
Legacy Professional Association
LPA aims to be recognized in the college community as an organization that promotes intellectual development, decision making skills, inter-professional relations, and the development of community activities that stimulate the value for public service and the passion to assume the legacy of your future profession. LPA is currently instituted in seven universities in Puerto Rico; UPR at Cayey, Arecibo, Mayaguez, and Rio Piedras; Turabo University; Pontifical Catholic University of PR; and CAUCE. The association will soon be instituted at Caribbean Medical School in St. Croix.

OUR PHILOSOPHY
To foster academic and personal growth, while encouraging interrelationship and mentoring between our members, younger students interested in medicine, and other chapters of Legacy Professional Association. We encourage and provide space for members to create, develop, and execute mindful iniciatives [LEGADOS] such as LITTLE heroes, EcoPharma Amigable and Hablemos de Cáncer.
We promote a culture of genuine compassion, vision, passion, holism, creativity, innovation, kindness, perseveration, and excellence inside the medical community.

We envision creating a life-long family and network of students who are inherently passionate about making LITTLE changes in our community. We started Legacy Professional Association LITTLE heroes because we wanted to provide our colleagues and younger students with a pipeline that is ran by mindful people who are interested in staying inspired and stimulated inside our constantly-changing field of medicine. We believe in the power of sharing ideas and in the purpose of mentoring - hoping this community promotes the birth of new LEGADOS.
